The Friends arranged a bus trip to Cowra gardens on Sunday 18 March 2012, with 30 members and friends making the journey. A delicious devonshire tea was provided by the Boorowa courthouse cafe before they arrived at the Rose Gardens in Cowra.
Lunch was then enjoyed at the Japanese Gardens and members and friends were able to peacefully wander about the gardens. The trip included a visit to the site of the original camp, a replica of the guard’s tower and the cemetery.
Back to Boorowa for afternoon tea and guessing games before trundling back to Canberra. We can report – a good time was had by all.
